Lemuel moved from New Jersey to Ohio about 1807and was a resident for a short while in Warren County before coming to Clinton County.
The National Archives has a file of Lemuel Jr. 's War of 1812 Bounty Land and Widow's Pension records - WC-20775. It says he enlisted September 4, 1813, at Lebanon, Ohio in Captain William B. Fordyce's Company in Colonel Henry Zumalt's 2nd Regiment of the Ohio Militia and served as a private until March 4, 1814, when he was honorably discharged at Lower Sandusky.
Lemuel may have been married three times. His first wife died in 1820 and he married Anna Betson in 1823. Clinton County Marriage Licenses Issued No. 179, October 10, 1820, to Lemuel Garrison and Martha Garrison; Of lawful age, On Bond of Indemnification.
The 1870 Illinois Census shows Lemuel, age 83, and his wife Ann, age 75, living with their son-in-law Daniel Camp and daughter Rebecca in Millbrook Township, Peoria County, Illinois.
Jane's death record says she lived in Illinois 52 years, which indicates she came there from Ohio in 1852.

James and his family moved from Peoria County to west of Toulon in Stark County in February 1876.

In 1886 Thomas moved his family to Peoria where he was County Deputy Sheriff.
A Tobias Moats volunteed into Company K, 47 Illinois Infantry Regiment, from Millbrook, Illinois, in August 1861.
The 1870 Census shows John Moats 56 and his wife Rebecca 53, with children Nancy 17 and Sarah 13 living two houses away from Tobias. These may be his father and mother.
He was living at 61 2nd Street, Clarksville, Ohio, in 1876 and 1882. The brick home was still in use in 1999.
The 1900 Census for Clarksville, Ohio, Family 301 has George W. Garrison, Head of Household, 82; Maggie J., Wife, 72; Fred Lawson, Step Son, 46; Amanda A. Lawson, Step Daughter, 47; and Susie Lawson, Grand Daughter, 12. Amanda is the daughter of George's cousin, James Garrison.
