Sarah F. GARRISON

Sarah was living in Knox County, Illinois when her father's will was contested in 1873 and married to J. Coon.


George Washington GARRISON

The 1850 US Census for Steuben Twp., Warren Co., Indiana, has Family #45 Parson Garrison 29 Ohio, Mary 29 Ohio, Sarah E. 5 Indiana, George W. 6/12 Indiana, Mary Davis 53 New Jersey, and Joseph Davis 16 Ohio.  Living nearby was Parson's brother Joseph Garrison, Family #36. Mary Davis was  the mother of Parson's wife, Mary Camp. Mary Garrison first married Joseph Camp, then Joseph Davis.

The 1870 Census for Millbook Twp, Peoria Co., IL has with Family #105 Garrison, George. W. 21, Farm Laborer, born Ohio; Amanda 18, born Ohio. They were living in Dwelling #106 with Lemuel Garrison and family and with John Coon and his wife Sarah T.  Sarah was a daughter of Lemuel.  Next door in Dwelling #107 was Robert Garrison and family.  Robert, Lemuel, and George's father Parsons were first cousins.

Sources give different birth years for George, although they agree with January 14. Years given are 1844, 1845, 1846, 1847, 1849, and 1850. Based on the 1850 US Census it would be January 1850. The 1870 Census indicates he was born between July 1848 and June 1849. His gravestone reads died March 30, 1917, age 72 years, 2 months, 16 days, which calculates born January 14, 1845. His obituary says he was born January 14, 1844, in Wabash, Indiana, and died March 30, 1917, at Norton, Kansas.


Elvey GARRISON

The 1850 Census shows Elvey and family living in Vernon Township, Hancock County, Indiana.  Recorded birthplaces of the children indicate that they had been in Indiana at least 15 years. (See 1850 Indiana Census, Roll 149, page 262, Family 785)


Eli James GARRISON

Eli and family left Ohio in 1883 and moved to Illinois.  For many years they resided on the Garrison farm north of Yates City, later retiring to Yates City about 1906.
